We are seeking a highly experienced Portfolio Director to lead the establishment of a new Data, AI & Analytics Portfolio Office for one of our prestigious university clients. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role based onsite, focused on standing up the foundational structures, governance, and operational rhythm for a strategically significant portfolio.

This role will be pivotal in driving alignment across enterprise-level data and analytics initiatives, ensuring delivery against value, governance standards, and stakeholder expectations.

By joining Tranzformd, you will be working with ASX listed companies on transformation strategies, initiatives and programs of work. This might include but is not limited to the following:

• Portfolio Office Establishment: Design and establish the Portfolio Office framework, operating model, and delivery governance to support Data, AI, and Analytics initiatives.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with university executives and program sponsors to align portfolio priorities with institutional goals.
• Portfolio Management: Oversee portfolio performance, interdependencies, risk, and resource planning across projects and programs.
• Governance & Reporting: Implement effective portfolio governance, tracking, benefits realisation frameworks, and reporting structures.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key liaison between Tranzformd, university leadership, IT, business units, and data & analytics teams.
• Team Leadership: Guide and mentor internal and client-side project managers and analysts within the portfolio structure.
• Program Management: be hands on when needed with program delivery.
• Data focused: Experience as a Portfolio Director having oversight of the Technology and Data division.
• Change Enablement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and data-driven decision making.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience (10+ years) in portfolio leadership roles, ideally within data, AI, analytics, or technology transformation domains.
• Demonstrated success in establishing or scaling portfolio management functions in complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills at the executive level.
• Deep understanding of project/program/portfolio methodologies (e.g., MSP, MoP, PMO frameworks).
• Experience working in or with higher education institutions is highly desirable.
• Pragmatic leadership style with the ability to balance structure with flexibility in evolving environments.
