The Opportunity
The company is looking for a Head of Engineering to lead its Australian Engineering and Delivery teams. This role involves mentoring engineering managers, championing agile practices, and collaborating closely with senior leaders to enhance performance, deliver high-quality solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

The Head of Engineering will play a key role in shaping the engineering strategy, fostering team development, and working with customers to understand their needs and drive innovation. A focus on continuous improvement in processes, efficiency, and customer profitability will be central to the role.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor engineering and delivery managers across Australia.
• Build and nurture a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and align them with business goals.
• Ensure the engineering teams are adequately resourced and supported to meet customer needs.

Performance Management

• Measure and analyse team performance (throughput, quality, utilisation, profitability).
• Implement improvements based on performance metrics to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
• Maintain transparency in engineering performance and report on key metrics, including financials.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

• Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to understand their needs and foster innovation.
• Work closely with customer success and project teams to deliver world-class software and services.
• Lead customer meetings, offering technical insights and solutions to meet customer requirements.

Strategy & Innovation

• Contribute to shaping the engineering practice to ensure scalability, security, and quality.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and work to mitigate their impact on engineering teams and customers.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive innovation and align engineering efforts with business goals.

Process Improvement & Efficiency

• Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and profitability.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
• Support the development of best practices for software delivery, security, and automation.

Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and safety in the workplace.
