Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable construction Project Manager, to focus on Capital Works. In this role you will assess building infrastructure, capital planning and project specific requirements, as well as oversee minor projects (up to $1.5 million in value) around scope development and delivery.
Role Title: Project Manager - Capital Works.
Contract Length: 14/04/2025 to 07/09/2025.
Hourly Pay: $69 + Super per hour.
Location: Gosford (2250). Office/WFH Hybrid
Role Requirements:
This position is expected to provide a key leadership and operational role in delivering project management functions relating to the District's development projects. This includes:
- Management of and contribution to project governance structures including engagement (direct/indirect) of project team members and stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the project deliverables are achieved and meet the required quality criteria including reporting on milestones.
- Ensuring complete and thorough liaison occurs with all interested stakeholders to ensure processes are relevant and adopted in accordance with the project.
- Develop, document, manage and implement effective change in an operational environment that considers risks to the delivery of services.
- Ensure that the redevelopments adheres to planning processes, checklists, guidelines and documents relevant to the project.
- Predict, identify, report, escalate and mitigate risks to core project and facility business deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Mintaining effective relationships and communication within the organisation.
- Use initiative, flexibility and self-direction to manage the day-to day requirements with a high degree of competency, skills and enthusiasm.
- Work collaboratively with the organisation to develop and deliver consistent principles, to ensure projects meet the needs of consumers and providers.
Key Challenges:
- Maintaining open and transparent consultation and negotiation with a broad range of project stakeholders.
- Identifying, problem solving, responding and reporting all identified risks related to the projects, while maintaining on- site documentation (records) that meets governance requirements in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing effective project management in a NSW Government environment.
- Highly developed consultation and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders and objectivity in decision-making.
- High-level project management experience including managing and delivering outcomes across multiple projects on time and within budget.
- Additional experience in procurement, with tenders and briefs is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing strategic and operational documentation including reports, briefs, designs, plans and risk assessments.
- Well-developed written and oral communications skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with the project team, district management and key stakeholders.
- Must be in possession of a white card.
- Experience working, or possessing knowledge around HVAC work is also desirable.
