About the Role:
We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a fast-paced and collaborative data team for a 6-month contract role based in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern data infrastructure using the latest technologies. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing robust data pipelines and workflows that drive critical business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and other ETL tools.
• Implement Fivetran tool in to the business.
• Build and optimize data models and transformation workflows in a cloud-first environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, product, and engineering to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the data architecture on Azure Cloud.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Fivetran for data ingestion.
• Proficient with dbt for transformation and modeling.
• Strong experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Lake).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling best practices.
• Experience with SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices in a data context.
• Familiarity with modern BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
