Join a top-tier Australian bank on a high-impact data transformation program. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering robust, cloud-native data solutions using Azure and Databricks within an enterprise-scale environment.

This is a critical contract role supporting ongoing delivery across the bank's Azure data platform. You'll work closely with data product teams and engineering leads to build scalable data pipelines and enable strategic data initiatives across the organisation.

• Build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Databricks

• Integrate diverse data sources, including APIs, databases, and streaming feeds into a modern data platform

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade data products

• Maintain data quality, implement best practices for governance, and ensure secure handling of sensitive data

• Contribute to automation, performance tuning, and documentation of data workflows

• 5+ years in Data Engineering with strong enterprise-level project experience

• Expertise in Azure cloud services (Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory, Functions)

• Hands-on proficiency in Databricks and PySpark

• Strong SQL and data modelling experience

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and production-grade data environments

• Bonus: Experience in banking or highly regulated industries

• Contract with a leading Australian bank on a flagship data program

• High-impact work on a cloud-native platform used across the enterprise

• Hybrid work environment with Sydney CBD office presence (2-3 days/week)
