Our client - a leading Sydney-based financial institution - has established a dedicated OpenShift Centre of Excellence and is now seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer to help drive innovation, automation, and reliability across their containerised platforms.

About the Role:

As an OpenShift Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade container platform solutions. You'll work alongside platform and application teams to champion GitOps methodologies, leveraging tools like ArgoCD to enable automated, consistent, and secure deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and enhance the OpenShift (or Kubernetes) platform used across the enterprise

  • Implement GitOps practices using ArgoCD to streamline CI/CD and deployment pipelines

  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to deliver scalable, secure, and observable platform solutions

  • Support the operational health of container workloads, identifying and resolving issues proactively

  • Contribute to the development of platform engineering standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing across the organisation

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes in an enterprise environment

  • Hands-on expertise with ArgoCD and GitOps principles

  • Solid understanding of containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code

  • Experience working in cloud or hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Why Join?

  • Be part of a newly established Centre of Excellence for container platforms

  • Work with cutting-edge tools and forward-thinking teams driving real change

  • Join a stable and respected financial services brand with a strong focus on technology transformation

  • Hybrid work environment based in Sydney
