Role: Program Manager - Telecommunications
Daily Rate: $950 - $1300 + Super
Contract Length: 12-months (likely extension)
Location: Sydney CBD/WFH Flex
As Program Manager, you'll take the reins of a complex portfolio including the NSWTA Broadband Strategy, joint Commonwealth initiatives like Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB), and a variety of mobile and digital infrastructure projects that directly support emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Broadband Program, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
Represent NSWTA in national forums and partnerships, including with the National Emergency Management Agency.
Develop and manage project plans, procurement activities, governance processes, and reporting frameworks.
Shape policy and technical solutions, including a mobile broadband asset portal and joint business cases.
Draft briefings, Cabinet submissions, and Ministerial updates with strategic clarity and technical precision.
Proactively manage program risks, stakeholders, and inter-agency coordination efforts.
About You
We're looking for a strategic and delivery-focused Program Manager with a track record of leadership in large-scale telecom or public infrastructure programs. You must be comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and have the credibility to engage with senior executives, government bodies, and national agencies.
Essential Skills/Experience
15+ years of experience in policy and program delivery, with 5+ years at Program Director level.
Demonstrated leadership in telecommunications programs at a statewide or national level.
Deep knowledge of public safety networks, mobile broadband, P25 technology, and satellite systems.
Proven experience engaging with Mobile Network Operators and navigating the regulatory environment.
Agile delivery experience and relevant project management qualifications.
Superior stakeholder engagement and influence skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Strong strategic communication skills - able to craft briefings, scope documents, and complex technical content.
