🔎 About the Opportunity

We're seeking a Head of Data Governance to lead the design and implementation of a robust data governance framework across our enterprise. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring data is trusted, high-quality, and fit for purpose-starting with the student data domain as a foundational initiative.

You'll report to the Chief Data Officer and work in close partnership with architecture, data management, and business leaders across the organisation.

🧩 Your Impact

As Head of Data Governance, you will:

✅ Define and implement an enterprise-wide data governance strategy and operating model
✅ Lead the governance of master data (starting with student data), ensuring quality, stewardship, and accountability
✅ Work closely with data architecture and data management teams to align on policy, design, and delivery
✅ Support the rollout and adoption of MDM solutions by contributing governance expertise
✅ Partner with vendors for platform enablement, service delivery, and pricing negotiations
✅ Promote data governance awareness and drive cultural change across the organisation

🎯 About You

You'll bring:

✔️ Proven experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks in complex environments
✔️ Strong understanding of master data management (MDM), data quality, metadata, and stewardship
✔️ Hands-on experience working with MDM and data governance platforms (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Collibra)
✔️ Strategic thinking and stakeholder influencing skills at senior levels
✔️ Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple domains
✔️ Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving capabilities
✔️ Familiarity with health & safety and data compliance practices (e.g. privacy, ethics, security)
✔️ A passion for enabling better decisions through trusted data
