Senior Business Analyst - Business Transformation

6-Month Contract with possible extension

Talenza has been engaged by a leading financial services organisation to source a Senior Business Analyst for a 6-month contract to support major business transformation programs. This role operates within the PMO team and plays a critical part in shaping business requirements, refining product backlogs, and enabling successful Agile delivery across complex financial services initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to work closely with Product Owners, cross-functional teams, and global stakeholders to deliver high-impact business outcomes.

About You:

  • Business-focused Senior Business Analyst with strong transformation experience (not heavily technical).
  • Extensive experience working within Agile and Hybrid delivery environments.
  • Prior experience in financial services, banking, superannuation, or wealth management is highly regarded.
  • Skilled in facilitating requirement gathering workshops, including Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design approaches.
  • Proven ability to operate at both high-level business strategy and detailed functional analysis.
  • Experienced in managing multiple programs or streams of work simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, engaging confidently with both business and technical teams.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate requirement gathering and refinement workshops using Design Thinking and HCD methods.
  • Write clear, concise user stories with BDD acceptance criteria.
  • Refine and manage product backlogs in partnership with Product Managers and Product Owners.
  • Elaborate complex business rules, processes, and solution designs.
  • Support prioritisation activities and contribute to MVP slicing for Agile delivery.
  • Work across Agile, Hybrid, or SDLC frameworks as required to meet project needs.
  • Ensure alignment of solutions with strategic objectives and financial services regulatory requirements.
  • Operate within the PMO team to ensure alignment across programs and projects.

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering business analysis across complex business transformation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of backlog refinement, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Product Owners, and cross-functional delivery teams.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable deliverables.
  • Skilled in balancing detail with high-level business context and priorities.
  • Comfortable managing competing priorities across multiple concurrent programs.
