Our NSW Government client are hiring for a highly capable Business Analyst (SME/Testing) Travel and Expense to join their organisation. This role will support the implementation of a new Travel and Expense Management System across multiple NSW Government departments and the role will play a critical part in ensuring the system meets business needs, integrates effectively with existing platforms, and delivers a seamless user experience.
Role Title: Business Analyst (SME/Testing) Travel and Expense
Contract Role Till: 12 month initial contract.
Daily Pay: Up to $770 + Super per day.
Location: Sydney CBD (2000)/ WFH Hybrid. 50% in office and 50% working from home.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the analysis and dissemination of complex interface technical information and business rules across teams, enabling informed decisions and service improvements.
- Assist in identifying, scoping, and drafting key delivery items for new project initiatives.
- Embed agile methodologies to ensure requirements are value-driven and customer-centric.
- Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to define business needs and user stories that maximises customer benefit.
- Identify and document business processes, technical and functional requirements, aligning user stories and case scenarios with optimal delivery methods.
- Lead and manage system testing activities, including developing test plans, coordinating testers, and ensuring software meets quality standards.
- Produce comprehensive documentation including technical and functional requirements, interface designs, business process models, user stories, and use case scenarios.
Desired Subject Matter Expertise:
- Travel Bookings through NSW Government's travel provider (FCM), including request and approval workflows.
- Travel Allowances, with a strong understanding of NSW Government policies and how they vary across departments/agencies and awards.
- Purchasing Cards (PCard) - administration, support, and compliance.
- Virtual Cards (VCard) - for both travel and non-travel related transactions.
- Out-of-Pocket Expense Claims - processing and policy compliance.
- Travel and Expense Management Systems - administration, configuration, and user support.
- SAP Integration - understanding of how travel and expense systems interface with SAP for payroll and finance functions.
Requirements for consideration:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst/SME in system implementation projects, ideally within government or large enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of travel and expense processes and systems.
- Experience in system testing, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with SAP integration and financial workflows
- It is deemed desirable to have had prior involvement in implementing a Travel and Expense Management System.
- Additionally, experience working across multiple NSW Government departments or agencies is valued.
Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area and must possess existing full working rights in Australia.
