Description

Our NSW Government client are hiring for a highly capable Test Lead to join their organisation. This role will support the implementation of a new Travel and Expense Management System across multiple NSW Government departments and the role will play a critical part in better employee experience and enable more efficient sector mobility. The Test Lead will manage the participation of delivery team and other team members and business representatives in all cycles of program testing to enable the delivery of high quality fit for purpose solutions that meet organisational needs.


Role Title: Test Lead

Contract Role Till: Till the 06/07/2026

Daily Pay: Up to $775 + Super per day.

Location: Sydney CBD (2000)/ WFH Hybrid. 50% in office and 50% working from home.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the test team resources (direct and indirect team members), overseeing, work planning and aligning resources to deliver high quality testing to meet the project outcomes.
  • Develop test strategy and plans for the specified delivery stream considering target agencies and business units impacted and their business and technology footprint constraints to ensure high quality consistent testing services across the program.
  • Execute test plans encompassing scope, environment, schedules, resources, roles and responsibilities, logistics, and test readiness, for the following test cycles: End to End Testing (legacy systems and middleware focus), Pre-UAT (Smoke Testing), User Acceptance Testing, Payroll Parallel Testing, Regression Testing, and Cutover (Production Verification Testing).
  • Contribute to the assurance/stage gate process in evaluating business readiness to enter and exit test cycles to ensure the gate can be closed and the next stage started.
  • Work with leadership to identify and assign resources to activities in the test plans to ensure appropriate resourcing to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Observe, identify, and monitor deployment testing dependencies and manage and report testing-related status, risks and issues to proactively identify slippage and recommend opportunities to recover.
  • Monitor timely defect resolution and manage defect re-testing to ensure defects are resolved according to priority and severity

Requirements for consideration:

  • Extensive experience in IT testing domain and experience in the use of test management tools e.g. qTest and HPQC, TOSCA, Neoload or other automated and performance tools, JIRA, etc
  • Experience of SAP implementation projects with a thorough knowledge of SAP modules and operation.
