Location: Melbourne - South East Suburbs
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $125k + super

Talenza is working with a major government body that delivers large-scale initiatives to improve services and outcomes across the community. With transformation programs in motion, they are seeking a PMO Manager to strengthen portfolio oversight and uplift delivery capability.
This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office and embedding strong practices across a complex portfolio. You will work at both strategic and operational levels, ensuring projects are on track, risks are well managed, and the executive team has clear visibility of progress and investment.
Lead portfolio reporting and provide consolidated updates across programs and projects.
Partner with Program and Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate status reporting.
Collaborate with the Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance function to support proactive issue and risk management.
Maintain reliable forecasting for the project portfolio and track costs across capital expenditure and SaaS spend.
Oversee and improve portfolio, program, and project management tools and processes.
Champion the maturity of project delivery practices and evolve ways of working.
Help align resourcing supply with portfolio demand.
Contribute to the preparation of robust business cases to support investment decisions.
Provide insights, guidance, and coaching to delivery teams to drive consistency and value.
Strong background as a PMO Manager or senior PMO professional ready to step up.
Expertise in portfolio reporting, governance, and financial management.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Familiarity with public sector or large, complex organisations is advantageous.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
