Role: Network Architect
Day Rate: $1000 - $1200 + Super
Contract Length: Initial contract until 30 June 2026
Location: Sydney CBD/WFH Flex

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to provide technical leadership on a large-scale transformation program within a high-profile government agency. This is a long-term contract role offering the opportunity to influence critical infrastructure decisions and ensure the successful delivery of secure, modern networking solutions.

Key Responsibilites

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale network architecture across LAN/WAN, data center, hybrid, and cloud environments.

• Create technical specifications, diagrams, and documentation to guide project delivery teams.

• Define and implement network segmentation, security zones, and access control frameworks to meet stringent cyber requirements.

• Evaluate vendor and supplier solutions to ensure compliance with government cybersecurity policies and industry best practice.

• Advise senior stakeholders on network strategy, technology adoption, and investment priorities.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless delivery.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise-scale networks.

• Strong background with cloud networking (Azure) and hybrid/multi-cloud connectivity.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, HPe, and major network management platforms.

• Skilled in technical evaluation, solution assessment, and procurement support.

• Strong technical documentation and architectural writing skills.

Desirable:

• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect (Expert) and/or TOGAF.

• Experience with Software Defined Networking and government networking frameworks (ISM, SOC2, OSA, IRAP).

• Knowledge of PCI environments.
