About the Role
Our client, a leading name in the Australian financial services sector, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong mortgages experience to support a large-scale transformation program. The successful candidate will bring deep understanding of mortgage products, lending operations, and end-to-end origination processes, combined with a data-savvy approach to business analysis.
You will work across product, operations, and technology teams to deliver business and system changes that improve efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis for initiatives within the mortgages domain, from requirements gathering to solution delivery.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Technology teams to understand business challenges and define effective solutions.
- Elicit, document, and validate detailed business and functional requirements.
- Map current and future-state processes for mortgage origination, servicing, and settlements.
- Support UAT planning, execution, and defect management.
- Work closely with data, technology, and compliance teams to ensure business needs are met in a regulatory and operationally sound manner.
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst within mortgages, home lending, or secured finance.
- In-depth understanding of the mortgage lifecycle - origination, credit assessment, documentation, settlements, and servicing.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work with product owners, credit teams, and IT delivery teams.
- Data-savvy mindset - comfortable interpreting data, understanding data flows between systems, and using reporting to validate business impacts (without needing to perform detailed data analysis).
- Experience with system and process changes in a complex banking or financial services environment.
- Solid documentation skills, including BRDs, process maps, and user stories.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
You Will Bring
- A proactive, analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Confidence working with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- A genuine passion for improving customer and business outcomes in the mortgage domain.
Eligibility
- Candidates must be based in Sydney, Australia, with full working rights.
