Description

Our NSW Government client are hiring for a highly capable Associate Director People Systems & Analytics to join the organisation. This role requires someone who is hands-on, highly adaptive and able to lead a team of 3, providing leadership across payroll operations, people systems and workforce reporting for the department and broader portfolio.

Management of systems is not required however you will be managing relationships with the systems and therefore have a strong understanding.

Role Title: Associate Director People Systems & Analytics

Contract Role Till: Ideally starting this month, till the 30th of June 2026.

Daily Pay: $700 - $800 + Super per day.

Location: Sydney CBD (2000) - Mix of In-Office 3 days per week/ WFH Hybrid.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strong understanding of payroll operations, governance and compliance (not processing, but the frameworks, governance, controls, compliance and vendor/service oversight).
  • Workforce reporting and analytics - able to produce clear, accurate dashboards and insights (ideally Power BI) to inform business decisions.
  • Experience managing HRIS / HCM systems (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone) and ensuring data quality and system optimisation.
  • Vendor and shared service provider management - ability to engage to resolve issues and improve service delivery.


Characteristics and Experience required:

  • Ideally government or large, complex organisation experience.
  • A confident leader who can oversee a small team while remaining hands-on with systems, reporting and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and improving workforce systems, payroll operations and data reporting functions in a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to navigate government processes, build effective relationships and manage vendor or shared service provider performance.
  • Strong judgement, with the ability to navigate sensitive payroll or vendor issues calmly and decisively.
  • Analytical and detail-focused, but able to step back and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Someone who enjoys transformation efforts - capable of uplifting capability, strengthening processes, and embedding self-service within the P&C function.
