Role: Senior Data Engineer
Day Rate: $1150 - $1250 incl. Super
Contract Length: 6-months
Location: Sydney CBD/WFH Flex

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a large-scale digital transformation program. You'll play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimising data pipelines and platform components across a modern cloud-based ecosystem, enabling scalable and reusable data assets for analytics, insights, and operational use.

The Role

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable data pipelines using AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3) and Snowflake.

• Translate solution designs and modelling specs into technical implementations.

• Build reusable, modular data assets with embedded logging, observability, and error handling.

• Apply CI/CD practices in collaboration with DevOps teams for automated builds, testing, and deployments.

• Partner with Solution Designers, Data Ops, and analytics teams to ensure solutions are scalable and fit for downstream consumption.

• Mentor junior engineers, contribute to documentation, and uplift engineering standards across the team.

About You

• 5+ years' experience in data engineering or related development roles.

• Strong SQL and Python skills.

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end pipelines and transformations in cloud platforms.

• Solid knowledge of Snowflake and AWS services (Glue, Lambda, S3).

• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control.

• Snowflake and/or AWS certifications.

• Experience with data quality frameworks and automated testing (e.g. dbt, Great Expectations).

• Exposure to regulated industries, public sector, or insurance.

• Experience with modern analytics workflows (real-time, streaming, ML features).
