My client, a leading Australian financial services institution, is seeking a Tech Lead - Platform Engineering to join their high-performing technology team. This is a key leadership role, driving the delivery of modern platforms that underpin critical business applications.

The Role

As the Tech Lead, you'll provide technical direction and hands-on expertise across Azure, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps. You'll be instrumental in shaping the platform engineering strategy, building scalable cloud-native solutions, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, providing technical mentorship and guidance.

• Drive the design, build, and operation of cloud-native platforms on Microsoft Azure.

• Champion best practices in Kubernetes for container orchestration and workload management.

• Oversee CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release processes with Azure DevOps.

• Collaborate closely with architecture, security, and application teams to deliver robust solutions.

• Promote a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead / Senior Platform Engineer in large-scale environments.

• Strong hands-on skills in Azure cloud services.

• Expertise with Kubernetes (AKS preferred).

• Solid experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and automation.

• Background in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep or similar).

• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability.

• Financial services or other enterprise-scale experience highly regarded.
