Description

Platform Engineer | Tech Unicorn | Developer Experience Focus | Sydney (Hybrid)

Are you passionate about developer experience and enabling engineering teams to move faster, safer, and more autonomously?

We're hiring a Platform Engineer for one of Australia's leading tech unicorns - a household name known for cutting-edge technology, a strong engineering culture, and an enviable product that's used globally.

This is a Sydney-based role (hybrid), focused on building out an internal self-service platform to empower developers to ship features faster and more reliably. You'll play a key role in improving the developer experience by abstracting away infrastructure complexities and enabling teams to focus on building great products.

As part of a high-impact platform team, you'll work closely with software engineers across the organisation to build tools, frameworks, and services that streamline development workflows and improve scalability, reliability, and observability.

  • Building and scaling a self-service platform used by internal engineering teams

  • Improving CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling

  • Defining and enforcing infrastructure standards using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Championing observability and operational excellence

  • Enhancing Kubernetes orchestration and AWS-based infrastructure

  • Collaborating with product and platform engineers to deliver a frictionless dev experience

  • Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi

  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration

  • Solid CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, ArgoCD, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)

  • A passion for improving the lives of developers and creating reliable, scalable systems

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • This is a Sydney-based role with a flexible hybrid work model

  • Work at a top-tier tech unicorn with a global impact

  • Be part of a high-performing team solving real engineering problems

  • Strong internal engineering culture with modern tech and autonomy

  • Competitive salary, equity, and employee benefits

  • Career growth, mentoring, and a collaborative environment
