Description

Are you a seasoned network engineer ready to take the lead in shaping cloud networking best practice for one of Australia's most recognisable and trusted brands? Our client-an established household name with a major national presence-is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to drive the evolution of their cloud connectivity and network architecture.

In this hands-on engineering position, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising cloud network solutions on AWS. You will act as the organisation's internal authority on cloud networking, working closely with architecture, security, and operations teams to ensure the environment is robust, scalable, and aligned to modern best practice.

This role is ideal for someone who began their career in on-premise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, WAN) and has successfully transitioned into cloud-first networking across AWS services.

  • Designing and implementing secure, highly available AWS networking solutions

  • Working with VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, inter-VPC connectivity, hybrid networking, and segmentation

  • Setting and evangelising cloud networking standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation

  • Troubleshooting complex cloud and hybrid network issues

  • Partnering with security, cloud, and platform teams to deliver cohesive network solutions

  • Supporting the migration and modernisation of legacy network environments

  • Contributing to roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Strong background in traditional networking: routing, switching, firewalls, WAN technologies

  • Solid hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, TGW, Direct Connect, Route 53, NACLs, security groups, etc.)

  • Experience in hybrid network designs and enterprise-grade architectures

  • Ability to influence and guide stakeholders, driving adoption of cloud networking best practice

  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

  • Relevant certifications (AWS, CCNP/CCIE, etc.) are a bonus

  • Work with a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering team

  • Opportunities to shape standards and influence architectural direction

  • Competitive salary & excellent employee benefits

  • Sydney-based with flexible hybrid working
