Are you a seasoned network engineer ready to take the lead in shaping cloud networking best practice for one of Australia's most recognisable and trusted brands? Our client-an established household name with a major national presence-is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to drive the evolution of their cloud connectivity and network architecture.
In this hands-on engineering position, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimising cloud network solutions on AWS. You will act as the organisation's internal authority on cloud networking, working closely with architecture, security, and operations teams to ensure the environment is robust, scalable, and aligned to modern best practice.
This role is ideal for someone who began their career in on-premise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, WAN) and has successfully transitioned into cloud-first networking across AWS services.
Designing and implementing secure, highly available AWS networking solutions
Working with VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, inter-VPC connectivity, hybrid networking, and segmentation
Setting and evangelising cloud networking standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation
Troubleshooting complex cloud and hybrid network issues
Partnering with security, cloud, and platform teams to deliver cohesive network solutions
Supporting the migration and modernisation of legacy network environments
Contributing to roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong background in traditional networking: routing, switching, firewalls, WAN technologies
Solid hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, TGW, Direct Connect, Route 53, NACLs, security groups, etc.)
Experience in hybrid network designs and enterprise-grade architectures
Ability to influence and guide stakeholders, driving adoption of cloud networking best practice
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Relevant certifications (AWS, CCNP/CCIE, etc.) are a bonus
