Description

Business Partner - Group IT

Location: Sydney (with occasional travel)

We're seeking an experienced IT Business Partner - Group to play a key role in strengthening the relationship between Group IT and our corporate business functions during a period of significant transformation.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, stakeholder engagement, and delivery. You'll work closely with senior leaders across Finance, Commercial, HSE, People & Culture, and Technical Services to ensure IT initiatives are aligned to business priorities, clearly understood, and delivering real value.

As our IT operating model matures, this role will help shape demand, support the rollout of enterprise platforms (including ServiceNow), uplift service performance, and contribute to a clear, well-governed IT strategy that reflects the needs of a modern, mid-sized utilities organisation.

  • Build and maintain trusted, senior relationships with Group and corporate leaders

  • Act as the primary interface between corporate functions and Group IT

  • Translate business priorities and challenges into clear IT demand and strategic inputs

  • Represent corporate stakeholders in IT planning, governance, and prioritisation forums

  • Communicate IT strategy, standards, roadmaps, and services in clear business language

  • Support the adoption of IT platforms, standards, and governance processes

  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency, compliance, and decision-making

  • Work closely with service delivery, infrastructure, and cyber teams to address recurring issues

  • Track engagement outcomes, stakeholder satisfaction, and demand pipelines

  • Bring external best practice and continuous improvement thinking into the organisation

You're a confident, pragmatic business partner who is comfortable operating in environments with complex stakeholders, operational constraints, and some ambiguity. You understand how corporate functions operate and how technology can enable better outcomes - without overcomplicating things.

You'll likely bring:

  • Strong experience in an IT business partnering, relationship management, or stakeholder engagement role

  • A background working with corporate or shared services functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Commercial, Compliance)

  • The ability to translate technical concepts into practical business conversations

  • Experience working across geographically dispersed teams and locations

  • A service-oriented mindset with strong commercial and business acumen

  • The confidence to engage at GM and executive level, while still building rapport at all levels

Experience in utilities, heavy-industry, or asset-intensive environments is essential.

  • Be part of a genuine IT uplift and transformation journey

  • Work closely with engaged executive and operational leaders

  • Influence enterprise-wide IT strategy and service maturity

  • Join an organisation investing in its business partnering capability across IT, HR, and P&C

  • Play a visible role in shaping how IT supports the business for the long term
