Role: Senior Azure Cloud Engineer
Daily Rate: $900 - $1000 + Super
Contract Length: 12-month + extensions
Location: Anywhere in Australia (2/3 days in office mandatory)

Security Clearance - AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN with NV1 Clearance (or ability to obtain)

The Role

We are seeking multiple Senior Azure Cloud Engineers to support and enhance a large, complex Microsoft cloud environment within a federal government agency. This is a hands-on role focused on building new cloud solutions, maintaining existing infrastructure, and contributing to a major transition toward infrastructure-as-code.

You will work within a small, collaborative cloud engineering team and liaise closely with software development teams to support delivery in an Agile environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys both project delivery and operational support, and who is passionate about automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Provide production support for Microsoft cloud-based systems, including troubleshooting and incident resolution
  • Build, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure
  • Implement best practices for security, availability, performance, and cost optimisation
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation and deployment-by-code initiatives
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for solutions and production systems
  • Provide design input for new cloud solutions
  • Collaborate with development teams to support Agile project delivery

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Microsoft Azure, including building new solutions and supporting production environments
  • Experience implementing automation for deployments (preferably using Bicep)
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code practices
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment
  • Knowledge of on-premises infrastructure (desirable)

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid role: 50/50 home and office
  • Minimum 2 days per week onsite in a government office (non-negotiable)
  • Locations available: QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS
  • Up to 40 hours per week
