At ATDW, we're reimagining how Australia's tourism experiences show up in the fast‑changing, search‑driven world of travel inspiration, planning and conversion. With our Board‑endorsed 2030 Strategy and our new NextGen Platform, we're designing a modern, AI‑ready future state for tourism content, distribution and analytics that will serve operators, distributors, Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs) and Tourism Australia and all State Tourism Organisations (STOs) for the decade ahead.

This is not a standard technology upgrade. It's a once‑in‑a‑generation platform build that will reshape how tourism content is managed, discovered and measured across Australia's visitor economy. Travel search and discovery are changing fast. Guests expect rich, accurate, up‑to‑date content wherever they are: search, mapping, social, AI assistants and specialised travel sites. ATDW's NextGen Platform will power:

  • A modern data Lakehouse and API‑first architecture to unlock secure, scalable, near real‑time content and insights.
  • AI‑ready capabilities that support smarter content curation, quality, enrichment and distribution.
  • Best-in‑class management of tourism content - not just storing it - with robust workflow, governance and analytics to show what's working and where the gaps are.
  • Meaningful analytics for tourism operators, DMOs, STOs and distributors so they can see how content performs across channels and make better decisions.

As Program Manager, you'll sit at the centre of this transformation, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Product, Technology and Transformation leaders to bring the future state to life.

What you'll lead:

You'll be the orchestrator and steward of the NextGen Platform - aligning strategy, delivery, vendors and stakeholders around a clear, credible roadmap.

In this role you will:

Own the integrated program roadmap

  • Lead a multi‑year program that spans platform architecture, data Lakehouse migration, API‑first services and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate six core workstreams (platform, data, product, customer experience, change, operations), keeping scope, timelines, budget and interdependencies on track.

Deliver disciplined, agile transformation

  • Champion agile/hybrid practices that balance speed and quality, innovation and risk management.
  • Drive on‑time, on‑budget delivery

Lead governance and give the Board confidence

  • Chair the Program Governance Committee, set clear decision gates and ensure transparent escalation paths.
  • Provide concise, insight‑rich reporting for the CEO, Board and STO partners, turning complexity into clear narratives and options.
  • Maintain risk registers, audit‑ready documentation and work closely with independent assurance partners.

Turn technology into adoption and value

  • Plan go‑live, hyper‑care and legacy decommissioning so stakeholders move confidently into the new environment.
  • Work with the Transformation Manager to ensure business change, training and communications land effectively.
  • Make sure tourism operators, DMOs and distributors see tangible value from the platform within 12 months - in content quality, channel reach and insights.

Embed data, AI and risk excellence

  • Stand up pragmatic data governance: quality controls, migration risk management, lineage and access management.
  • Help coordinate AI governance frameworks that support responsible, transparent and ethical use of AI in content and data services.

Collaborate & lead with clarity

  • Lead and develop a Program Lead, modelling high performance with high care.
  • Create a culture where people can bring their whole selves to work, take intelligent risks and feel genuinely supported.

Who we're looking for

This is a hands-on person, not a high and mighty "director" as you are in a delivery stand‑up. You're curious about AI, data and platform engineering, and you know how to turn architecture diagrams and governance frameworks into real outcomes for real people. You easily deal with ambiguity and can juggle many balls simultaneously

You'll bring:

  • 10+ years leading large‑scale technology, digital or business transformation programs, ideally multi‑year, multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
  • Proven experience with enterprise platforms, data transformations or cloud‑native migrations, with some exposure to AI‑enabled or AI‑ready environments.
  • Experience working with data platforms - Data Lakehouse, data warehouse or similar - or at least a strong conceptual understanding and appetite to go deeper.
  • Strong program governance and Board/C‑suite reporting skills, with a track record of building confidence and trust at senior levels.
  • Comfort orchestrating vendors and partners at scale - from major technology providers to specialist implementation and assurance partners.
  • Experience using agile or hybrid delivery methodologies in complex enterprise settings.

Experience in tourism, hospitality or distribution‑heavy industries is a bonus, not a requirement.
