Tranzformd is seeking an experienced Managing Consultant to support a complex service delivery and operating model engagement with one of our higher education clients. This role will play a critical leadership position across discovery, design, and early implementation, working closely with senior client stakeholders and leading a multidisciplinary delivery team.

The Managing Consultant will own key workstreams, shape service delivery and process outcomes, and ensure delivery quality across all artefacts. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong consulting fundamentals who is comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels.

Client & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead senior stakeholder engagement, including workshops, working sessions, and executive-level discussions
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client leads across service delivery, operations, and transformation
  • Translate complex problems into clear, structured, and actionable outcomes

Discovery & Analysis

  • Lead discovery activities to define current and future state service delivery models
  • Develop current and future state value chains and service blueprints
  • Identify priority processes for redesign, including "day one" processes
  • Assess high-level technology dependencies and constraints to inform design decisions

Design & Operating Model Development

  • Design future state service delivery and operating models aligned to governance and enterprise architecture
  • Develop SIPOCs, escalation pathways, and clear hand-off points between teams
  • Ensure redesigned processes align with staff and student experience outcomes
  • Define what "good" looks like, including urgency, sequencing, and lead times

Implementation Support

  • Support the establishment of interim processes while technology dependencies are progressed
  • Ensure readiness for implementation through clear documentation and stakeholder alignment

Delivery Management & Leadership

  • Own and continuously refine the service delivery model and process methodology
  • Develop and manage the overall roadmap, master schedule, and delivery timelines
  • Create, maintain, and review all working templates and final deliverable artefacts
  • Lead work packaging across squads and stand-alone functions
  • Manage resourcing and allocation across workstreams
  • Directly manage and coach team members (Tranzformd and client resources), including regular 1:1s and performance support

Required skills:

  1. Senior stakeholder management (including facilitation of complex workshops)
  2. Project management and delivery governance
  3. Process and service delivery model design
  4. Structured problem solving
  5. Lean transformation experience
  6. Cost optimisation and efficiency analysis

Required Experience:

  • ~4-5 years' experience in management consulting or a similar advisory environment
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing targeted operating models
  • Strong understanding of service delivery models, process architecture, and operating model design
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organisations (higher education or public sector highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple workstreams concurrently
