About the Role

As a Lead SOC Engineer, you'll be a senior technical leader within the Security Operations and Identity Management team, providing deep subject-matter expertise and strategic guidance across complex security technologies. You'll manage and mentor security engineers, work closely with clients, and help shape resilient security solutions across on-premises, virtualised and cloud environments.

About You

  • 10+ years' experience in senior cyber security roles.

  • Proven track record leading high-performing teams and influencing outcomes.

  • Hands-on expertise with security technologies such as NGFW, EDR tools, PAM, SWG/SSE or equivalent.

  • Hands-on expertise with Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms.

  • Strong understanding of core security principles, OSI model, TCP/IP stack, and modern cybersecurity controls.

  • Experience across cloud and hybrid environments, including security tooling and integration practices.

  • Familiarity with automation and IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deliver deep technical knowledge and guidance in key security areas (e.g., NGFW, SSE, PAM).

  • Security Solution Delivery: Own and lead the implementation and optimisation of security solutions across diverse infrastructure environments.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and uplift more junior engineers, building capability and excellence within the security team.

  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior clients, offering strategic advice and shaping security outcomes.

  • Cross-Team Innovation: Collaborate broadly with internal teams to drive innovation, resilience, and continuous improvement of security practices.
