Talenza have been engaged by a Brisbane government department to find a Senior Server Engineer. The successful candidate will be an experienced, hands-on Microsoft server administration and be adept at working in a hybrid environment (on-prem and Azure).

This role requires 3 days per week in the Brisbane CBD office and is only open to candidates currently based in Brisbane with full working rights.

Key Requirements

• Build, manage and support Azure-based and hybrid infrastructure across Azure and VMware environments.
• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using PowerShell, JSON and Bicep, supported by Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Implement and maintain automated patching for Windows and Linux using SCCM and Azure Update Manager.
• Manage backup and recovery solutions including Azure Recovery Services Vaults and Veeam.
• Monitor systems and respond to alerts using Azure Monitor while troubleshooting incidents with a focus on automation and reliability.
• Administer Active Directory and identity-integrated services, managing the full server lifecycle from build and upgrade to patching and decommissioning.
