Description

The Role

As a Data Analytics Consultant (Value Modelling), you will be responsible for building and maintaining value models that support strategic decision-making across the superannuation fund. You will work across member outcomes, investment performance, and operational efficiency - using your technical skills and domain knowledge to tell compelling stories through data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain value models to assess member and fund outcomes
  • Conduct advanced data analysis across large, complex superannuation datasets
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualisations using PowerBI or equivalent tools
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code in R, Python, or similar languages
  • Translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with client teams across actuarial, investments, member services, and finance
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of modelling frameworks and data governance practices
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision, managing your own workload and delivery timelines

Essential

  • 7+ years of experience in superannuation, financial services, or data analytics
  • Tertiary qualification in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Associate or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIAA/AIAA) - strongly preferred
  • Strong programming skills in R, Python, or equivalent analytical languages
  • Demonstrated experience building and interpreting value models or financial/member outcome models
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools - PowerBI, Tableau, or similar
  • Ability to work independently and deliver quality outputs with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Strong communication skills - able to present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences

Skills & Experience

Highly Regarded

  • Prior experience delivering a similar value modelling capability for another superannuation fund or financial services organisation
  • Experience with large member administration datasets (e.g. Link, IFAA, or similar platforms)
  • Exposure to APRA regulatory reporting requirements in the superannuation context
  • Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery environment
