We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist for a client in the mining and resources industry. This is on a day rate contract on an initial 6 months with potential extension/conversion to permanent. The role is based in Brisbane CBD office with hybrid working week.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and be proficient in SQL and Python. Experience with Power BI is a bonus, and familiarity with LLM (Large Language Models) is highly advantageous. A willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret large datasets to derive actionable insights.

• Develop and implement data models using Python and SQL.

• Create and optimize data pipelines for automated data processing.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

• (Optional) Utilize Power BI for reporting and visualizations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Power BI for data visualization.

• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLM).
