Description

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join a large-scale data migration program within the financial services sector, focusing on banking and retail products. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging business requirements with technical execution, ensuring successful data migration and alignment with business objectives. Initial 6 months contract with potential extension, based in Sydney CBD 3 days in office/2 wfh.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements for data migration initiatives related to banking and retail products.

  • Support the mapping of data between legacy systems and new platforms, ensuring accurate and seamless data migration.

  • Develop and maintain business process flows and user stories in alignment with migration goals.

  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure business requirements are understood and translated accurately.

  • Assist in the identification of risks and issues, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate impacts.

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the migration process.

  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that data migration meets business needs.

  • Support training and change management efforts for business users impacted by the migration.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong background in the financial services industry (preferably banking and retail products).

  • Experience in large-scale data migration projects and understanding of data flow processes.

  • Strong ability to gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.

  • Experience working in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Knowledge of banking, retail product systems, and financial services processes is highly desirable.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
