Role: Network Engineer
Hourly Rate: $150 - $160 + Super
Contract Length: 12-months (high chance of extension)
Location: Canberra CBD/WFH Flex

We have an exciting opportunity exists for a hands-on Network Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure within a large, complex government environment.

This role sits within a centralised technology services function responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing network services across a broad operational footprint.

The Role

You will provide technical support across operational and project activities, delivering cabled and wireless network administration across Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

You'll contribute to maintaining network availability, performance and service continuity, while supporting ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Participation in an on-call support roster and occasional after-hours work is required.

Key Responsibilites

  • Provide support and maintenance of enterprise data networks to agreed service levels

  • Perform day-to-day troubleshooting, break/fix services and network optimisation

  • Assist in provisioning new network connections via established processes

  • Support externally provided data services to ensure contracted service levels are met

  • Install, configure and maintain network equipment and services

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation including configurations and SOPs

  • Contribute to operational improvements in a complex ICT environment

About You

  • Strong experience across WAN, LAN and wireless technologies

  • Experience working in multi-vendor network environments

  • Hands-on infrastructure installation and configuration capability

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Customer-focused with clear communication skills

  • Able to prioritise and self-manage in a dynamic ICT environment

  • Baseline Clearance

  • Class C Driver Licence
