Our NSW Government client are looking for a highly capable and experienced Program Officer to join the organisation. This role is suited to candidates who have a background in government, community & stakeholder engagement, and project management and support activities.


Role Title: Associate Program Officer

Contract Role Till: 30/06/2026 - chance of extension

Daily Pay: $550 + Super - for a 7 hour working day. per hour as the maximum.

Location: 3 days in Office, Sydney CBD (2000) and 2 days working from Home.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.
  • Curate, design and implement initiatives to increase awareness of programming, facilities and activities that support NSW as a leading destination for innovation.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.
  • Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
  • Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning.
  • Monitor and address complex and/or sensitive enquiries and issues, including those that are escalated, to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of issues.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience providing high level project management and support activities.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • State or Federal Government experience is seen as valuable.
  • Experience working around economic development or economic innovation and funding is seen as valuable.
