Analytics Engineer

- Location: Melbourne / Hybrid working

Daily-Rate: Up to $1,400/day + Super

Duration: Contract until 31 Dec 2026 (potential to extend)

Talenza is partnering with a leading enterprise organisation to secure an experienced Analytics Specialist to join a high-performing Data & Analytics function. This is an exciting opportunity to apply advanced analytics and machine learning expertise to solve complex business problems and drive impactful, data-led decisions.

As an Analytics Specialist, you will work closely with business stakeholders and analytics leaders to design, develop and deliver high-value analytical solutions. You'll play a key role in translating business challenges into data-driven insights, leveraging modern tools and techniques across large, complex datasets.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop and refine analytical use cases

  • Translate business problems into analytical and machine learning solutions

  • Analyse, interpret and model large datasets to generate actionable insights

  • Rapidly test and iterate hypotheses to solve complex challenges

  • Develop and present clear data visualisations and insights to non-technical audiences

  • Provide subject matter expertise in machine learning to internal teams

  • Lead and coordinate analytics and data science initiatives across onshore and offshore teams

  • Contribute to agile delivery, including sprint planning and effort estimation

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory standards

  • Share knowledge and promote best practices across the analytics community

You are a technically strong and commercially minded analytics professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving real-world problems through data.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets to generate insights

  • Strong skills in Python, SQL & Databricks

  • Experience working in collaborative development environments

  • Comfortable working in Linux-based systems

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams

  • Exposure to machine learning techniques and frameworks

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline (preferred)

  • High-impact role within a mature data and analytics environment

  • Long-term contract through to end of 2026
