Our NSW Government client are looking for a highly capable Portfolio & Pipeline Specialist to join the organisation. In this role, the successful candidate will support the planning and delivery pipeline, applying prioritisation frameworks and building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure investments are evidence-based and aligned. This role is about connecting strategy to delivery and making sure resources are directed where they matter most. Candidates should have financial/economic or public sector investment experience and excellent stakeholder skills.
This role requires candidates to be able to start immediately, so will need candidates with a maximum of one weeks notice.
Role Title: Portfolio & Pipeline Specialist
Contract Role Till: 30/06/2026 - chance of extending.
Daily Pay: $850 - $950 + Super
Location: 2 days in Office, one in Sydney CBD (2000) and the other at Macquarie Park (2113) and the rest WFH.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of modal/branch divisional Asset and Services Plan including the 10-year strategic view of assets and services, underlying and future risk profile, and the 10-year TOTEX view in partnership with divisional branches, finance and asset management teams.
- Manage divisional prioritisation funds, allocation of budget and operation of necessary governance forums to support effective prioritisation of resources and funds.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative and cooperative working relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the required outcomes are articulated, understood and achieved and make a significant contribution to the wider business.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of an effective and collaborative interface across asset strategy, planning, development and delivery for the PMO.
- Apply a portfolio prioritisation methodology and process to provide efficient and effective risk-based prioritisation.
- Maintain good portfolio health by investigating and recommending treatments for projects or programs that are not delivering against defined benefits or meeting expected budgets and timelines, and support project re-baselining and optioneering for consideration through divisional governance forums.
- Supports translation of the strategic plan and key priorities into investment briefs and business cases by partnering with SMEs within the division.
- Provide subject matter expertise in project evaluations and benefits to advise and guide the division in the creation of new investment briefs and ongoing monitoring of the portfolio.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience in investment advisory, benefits management, or portfolio prioritisation ideally having worked as part of integrated teams in strategy, finance or asset management to deliver outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, able to influence decisions and make complex prioritisation and assurance processes accessible to the broader division.
- You're analytical and pragmatic, able to balance evidence with context.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
