An opportunity has arisen for a Risk Control Analyst to join a large, purpose-drivenorganisation and play a key role in strengthening risk management practices across a Data & AI business unit.
This position sits within the first line of defence, partnering closely with senior leaders, risk teams and project stakeholders to ensure robust risk frameworks, controls and governance are embedded across data and AI initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in technology, data or AI risk environments who enjoys working across complex programs and influencing stakeholders.
Support the Data & AI function in strengthening risk foundations including incident, action, risk and control management
Maintain the business unit risk register and develop key risk indicators
Ensure risks remain within appetite and support mitigation planning where required
Embed effective risk management practices into data and AI initiatives and programs
Strengthen risk controls, identify control gaps and support remediation
Support risk reporting and governance forums, including leadership and board reporting
Coordinate audit activities, regulatory reviews and assurance programs
Partner with second and third line risk teams to ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks
Conduct privacy impact assessments for data and AI initiatives
Provide guidance and support to uplift risk capability and culture within the business
Experience working in a Line 1 risk role, ideally within technology, data or AI environments
Strong understanding of enterprise and operational risk frameworks
Experience developing risk controls, risk registers and mitigation strategies
Knowledge of regulatory and governance frameworks (APRA exposure highly regarded)
Experience supporting risk reporting, governance forums and assurance activities
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across complex organisations
Familiarity with data protection and privacy frameworks
Exposure to data-driven risk reporting or analytics tools
Experience with incident management and post-incident reviews
Qualifications in risk, governance, project management or related disciplines
