Azure DevOps Engineer (Bicep Focus) - 12 Month Contract
Sydney | Hybrid | $900-$1,000/day inc super

I'm working with a well-backed enterprise going through a pretty significant uplift of their Azure platform and DevOps capability.

They're looking for a strong Azure DevOps Engineer to come in and take ownership of their infrastructure as code approach - with a heavy focus on Bicep - and help drive consistency, scalability, and automation across their environment.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" role. It's hands-on, build-focused, and you'll be working closely with platform, security, and engineering teams to modernise how they deliver in Azure.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and building Azure infrastructure using Bicep (greenfield + uplift work)
• Driving IaC best practice across the platform team
• Improving CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / YAML-based)
• Partnering with engineering teams to embed DevOps ways of working
• Supporting secure, scalable cloud environments (think landing zones, governance, policy)

What they're looking for:

• Strong hands-on Azure experience across core services
• Proven experience using Bicep in production environments
• Solid DevOps background (CI/CD, automation, release pipelines)
• Experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, YAML)
• Good understanding of cloud governance, security, and best practice
• Ability to influence and uplift engineering teams (not just sit in a corner and code)

Nice to have:

• Terraform exposure (not essential but helpful)
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
• Exposure to platform engineering concepts
