Role: Senior Cloud Engineer
Day Rate: $900 + Super
Contract Length: Initial contract to 18 Dec 26 (chance of extension)
Location: Macquarie Park/WFH Flex (3 days on site)

We're working with a large, well-established organisation that has recently completed a major AWS EC2 migration and is now entering the next phase of its cloud journey. With a 12-month investment program about to kick off, the focus is shifting toward maturing cloud capability, embedding DevSecOps practices, and uplifting engineering standards across the business.

The Role

This is a key senior hire, reporting into the Cloud Lead, where you'll operate across both BAU operations and project delivery. You'll play a critical role in uplifting a long-tenured team, helping embed modern engineering practices, and guiding the organisation toward a more mature, scalable cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 10+ engineers
• Embed DevSecOps practices across cloud engineering workflows
• Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption (Terraform Cloud)
• Support ongoing AWS platform optimisation post-EC2 migration
• Work across both operational support and project-based initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders to uplift engineering standards and capability

About You

• Strong AWS cloud engineering experience (EC2, core services)
• Proven experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and tooling
• A mentoring mindset - able to uplift and guide existing teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and a collaborative, low-ego approach
