Our Financial Services client are looking for highly capable Data Engineers to join the organisation, on a scope of work. This role requires candidates who are strong across AWS and GCP.
This is an initial 6 months Fixed-Term Contract opportunity, with a likelihood of extension.
Role Title: Data Engineers
Fixed Term Contract Role: Duration, 6 months Initial Contract.
Annual Pay (on a per annum basis): $150,000 to $170,000 + Super, depending upon experience.
Location: 3 days in Office, Sydney CBD (2000) and the rest WFH.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design, build and operate scalable, secure and analytics-read data pipelines and models across GCP BigQuery and AWS.
- Airflow-orchestrated data workflows and automations.
- DBT Cloud Transformations, testing frameworks and environment governance.
- Robust CI/CD and IaC deployments
- Performance optimisation across data pipelines, SQL, BigQuery and AWS data services.
- High-quality technical documentation, production support, incident response and handover to internal teams.
- Close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders including analytics, product and platform engineering.
Experience & Skills Required:
- AWS: IAM roles and policies, Lambda, S3, RDS and Redshift.
- GCP: BigQuery, workload optimisation and cost management.
- Cross-Cloud pipeline and data movement experience.
- Experience working across security, IAM and data access design is deemed valuable.
- Strong Hands on data engineering experience
- SQL capability, including analytical and window functions
- Advanced dbt cloud experience (models, SCD's, tests, macros and release management)
- Airflow workflow design including idempotency, backfills and monitoring.
- DevOps, CI/CD & IaC
- Experience with CI/CD (GitHub, Bitbuckect, GitHub Actions, Bambooad)
- IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with data quality frameworks and automated testing of pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python.
- 6-8 years' experience in data engineering as a minimum.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
