Role: Data Analyst
Day Rate: $650 - $800 + Super
Contract Length: Initial 4-months (likely extension)
Location: Wollongong/WFH (3 days on site)

We're partnering with a NSW Government organisation on a short-term transformation program, supporting structural and operational change across the business. This role will sit at the centre of decision-making, providing data-driven insights, identifying inefficiencies, and shaping improvements across systems, processes, and performance reporting.

The Role

You'll work closely with business and BI teams to analyse data, uncover trends, and translate findings into actionable insights. A key focus will be enhancing and adapting existing Power BI reports to reflect organisational changes.

Key Accountabilities

• Analyse and interpret complex datasets to support business decisions
• Identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
• Develop and enhance dashboards and reports in Power BI
• Support process mapping and performance measurement activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting and data requirements
• Translate data into clear insights for non-technical audiences

About You

• Strong experience in data analysis and visualisation
• Hands-on Power BI development experience (essential)
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to tools like Python (desirable)
• Experience working with business stakeholders and translating requirements
• Ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights
• Background in government or large enterprise environments (preferred)
