Senior Integration Engineer

Contract Length: 6 Months with the view to extend.
Location: Sydney CBD, Australia
Reports to: Senior Engineering Manager
Immediate team: 1 x Engineering Managers, 5 x Engineers, 2 x Automation Engineers.
Working arrangement: 1/2 days in the office, flexible working hours.

Role Purpose:

Integration Engineer delivering scalable solutions across cloud (GCP), SaaS, and on-prem systems for a leading retail and customer experience platform. We use Google Cloud, however open to candidates who have worked with AWS or Azure and happy to learn!

What you will be responsible for:

• Design, build, and operate scalable integrations across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS systems.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and build/release processes using tools like GitHub and Buildkite.
• Develop automated testing and deployment frameworks across Kubernetes, Kafka, and API platforms.
• Implement monitoring, troubleshoot issues, and translate business needs into technical design.

Your experience:

• Design and operate enterprise integration solutions using established integration patterns
• Develop backend services using Java and Spring Framework (Apache Camel desirable)
• Build cloud-based and event-driven systems using GCP and messaging tools like Kafka and Pub/Sub
• Work with containers and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Develop and deploy APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and use CI/CD tools like GitHub and Buildkite
