Join a leading ASX-listed company undergoing a major core systems transformation. This organisation is investing heavily in modernising its insurance platforms and is seeking a Data Migration Lead to play a critical role in delivering large-scale, business-critical programs.
About the Role
As a Data Migration Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end migration of legacy policy data into Guidewire PolicyCenter, leveraging the Policy Migration Tool (PMT) and industry best practices.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide teams, define migration strategy, and ensure successful delivery across complex datasets and legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the data migration workstream end-to-end
- Configure, test, and execute data loads using Guidewire PMT
- Translate business requirements into technical migration solutions
- Define scope, user stories, acceptance criteria, and estimates
- Analyse complex legacy data structures and map to Guidewire data models
- Manage full data load lifecycle: validation, execution, and reconciliation
- Optimise migration performance for large-scale data volumes
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and migration defects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (BAs, developers, QA, SMEs)
- Provide technical leadership and support to onshore and offshore teams
- Work closely with PMO and stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
- Proven experience using Policy Migration Tool (PMT)
- Strong background in large-scale data migration from legacy systems (e.g. mainframe)
- Deep understanding of the data migration lifecycle
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration
- Strong SQL skills for validation, reconciliation, and analysis
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Proven ability to lead teams of ETL/data engineers
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
