Our NSW Government client are hiring for a highly capable Project Manager to join on a construction/civil infrastructure project. This role requires performing of project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects in line with established objectives, on time and within budget.
Role Title: Project Manager - Construction
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 30/06/2026 - possible extension.
Hourly Pay: $68 excluding super per hour.
Location: Sydney CBD (2000) 5 days per week on site.
Description:
Key accountabilities:
- Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.
- Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
- Support the implementation of appropriate project controls (risk, scheduling, budgetary and reporting) to deliver transparency and improved project performance.
Key Challenges:
- Delivering a range of project management and support services, given tight deadlines, limited resources and the need to manage competing priorities.
- Maintaining collaborative working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders, given their varying viewpoints, interests and expectations.
- Maintaining knowledge of best practice, project management methodologies, principles and standards in a dynamic, complex educational environment.
About You:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience in a similar role is seen as desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Prior Public Sector experience is deemed favourable.
Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area and be able to work on site 5 times a week. Additionally, they must possess existing full working rights in Australia (PR or Citizenship).
