Role: AWS Cloud Architect
Day Rate: $1000 - $1100 + Super
Contract Length: Initial contract until 18 Dec 26 (likely extension)
Location: Macquarie Park/WFH Flex (3 days on site)

We're partnering with a large enterprise undergoing a multi-year AWS migration, supporting a critical healthcare environment. This is a hands-on Cloud Solution Architect role suited to someone with a strong engineering background who can bridge deep technical delivery with architecture governance.

The Role

You'll sit at the heart of a major AWS transformation, working closely with cloud engineers, operations, and delivery teams, as well as external AWS partners.

You'll play a key role in shaping modern, scalable cloud solutions while ensuring alignment with architecture standards and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AWS-based solutions across a complex migration program
• Work closely with Cloud Ops, App Support, Integration and Data teams
• Partner with AWS vendors and internal SMEs to drive outcomes
• Lead architecture discussions and present into architecture forums / review boards
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation and solution designs
• Drive modernisation, transformation, and cost optimisation initiatives
• Provide troubleshooting support across cloud environments where required
• Create clear, simple architecture diagrams to communicate designs effectively

About You

• Strong background in cloud engineering
• Deep expertise across AWS environments
• Experience with cloud modernisation, migration, and optimisation
• Strong understanding of AWS security best practices
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud issues
• Experience working within an architecture practice / governance framework
• Exposure to TOGAF or similar frameworks
• Comfortable presenting to Architecture Review Boards and senior stakeholders
• Strong documentation and design artefact creation
