I'm currently recruiting for an AI Infrastructure Team Lead to join a rapidly scaling Australian technology business operating at the forefront of AI, distributed systems and high-performance infrastructure.
This organisation is experiencing significant growth globally and is investing heavily into AI, platform engineering and next-generation infrastructure capabilities. Their engineering teams are building and operating the platforms powering advanced machine learning systems, distributed compute workloads and real-time AI applications in highly demanding environments.
This is a leadership-focused role that still requires strong technical depth. You'll lead and coordinate an AI Infrastructure team responsible for enabling scalable, high-performance environments supporting AI, data engineering and platform workloads.
You'll work closely with a Principal Engineer who drives architectural direction, while you focus on team execution, delivery capability, planning, operational maturity and cross-team alignment.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the day-to-day operations, planning and delivery rhythms of the AI Infrastructure team
- Driving alignment across AI, Data Engineering and platform teams
- Removing blockers and improving engineering efficiency, scalability and operational quality
- Supporting infrastructure initiatives across Kubernetes, Linux and distributed compute environments
- Helping uplift automation, MLOps, observability and platform reliability
- Contributing technically where required across complex infrastructure initiatives
- Mentoring engineers and helping build a high-performing engineering culture

What we're looking for
- Strong background across Platform Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure or AI Infrastructure
- Experience leading engineering teams in high-performance technical environments
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Linux infrastructure
- Experience supporting scalable compute, storage or distributed workloads
- Strong automation and DevOps mindset
- Someone who can balance technical contribution with leadership and operational coordination
