We're partnering with a well-known Australian enterprise undergoing continued technology uplift and looking for a hands-on Microsoft 365 Lead Engineer to take ownership of a critical collaboration and productivity platform environment.

This is a genuinely impactful role for someone who enjoys blending technical depth with leadership influence. You'll act as the go-to SME for Microsoft 365, helping shape platform strategy while remaining close to the technology.

What you'll be doing:

• Own and optimise the Microsoft 365 ecosystem across a large enterprise environment
• Act as the senior technical SME across:
  • Exchange Online
  • Microsoft Teams
  • SharePoint Online
  • Power Platform
  • Microsoft Fabric
• Lead platform improvement initiatives focused on performance, reliability and user experience
• Drive security, governance and compliance best practice across the M365 estate
• Provide Level 3 technical escalation support for complex platform issues
• Work closely with Microsoft and key vendors on roadmap alignment, optimisation and service improvements
• Oversee backup resilience and recovery capability across the tenant environment
• Build and maintain technical documentation, standards and operational runbooks
• Support broader technology teams on integration, adoption and platform uplift initiatives
• Contribute to strategic planning around modern workplace and collaboration tooling

What we're looking for:

• Strong hands-on Microsoft 365 engineering experience in enterprise environments
• Deep capability across core M365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint Online)
• Experience with Power Platform and ideally Microsoft Fabric exposure
• Strong understanding of M365 security, governance and compliance controls
• PowerShell scripting capability (or strong willingness to work with automation)
• Experience supporting complex production environments as a senior escalation point
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Exposure to backup / DR tooling in the M365 ecosystem (AvePoint a bonus)
• Microsoft certifications highly regarded
