Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Commercial Evaluation and Advisory Officer to join their organisation. By Joining the Commercial Evaluation and Advisory Team, this role will lead the development of commercial analysis, pricing and business cases, supporting commercial frameworks, governance and investment proposals. This role suits someone with strong experience in a graduate program (Economics, Commercial Accounting and Finance) and is open to candidates with government or private sector experience.
Role Title: Commercial Evaluation and Advisory Officer
Contract Length: Until the end of November - strong chance of extension.
Daily Pay: $600 - $700 + Super per day
Location: Sydney CBD (2000)/WFH Hybrid
Role Requirements:
- Lead the development of pricing for new contracts, renewals, and core offerings to ensure revenue forecasts enable cost recovery, value for money and long-term financial sustainability.
- Partner with the business to develop and review business cases that deliver transparent financial analysis and sound commercial insights.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights to enable informed and strategic decision-making across the business.
- Support strategic uplift of pricing frameworks, governance, and methodologies to strengthen consistency, defensibility, and transparency of commercial decisions.
- Drive process improvements, including automation of pricing tools and reporting, to increase efficiency, accuracy and responsiveness.
- Contribute to commercial capability uplift by sharing analysis techniques, modelling approaches, and best practice to build organisational expertise.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 2-3 + years experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial analysis, contract pricing and business case development.
- Advanced financial modelling skills in Excel or equivalent, with experience in sensitivity analysis and cost allocation.
- Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance financial sustainability, operational feasibility, and stakeholder needs.
- An ability to engage and influence stakeholders through compelling data storytelling, fostering alignment and driving commercially sound outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial models into practical advice.
Candidates must be based in the Greater Sydney Area and must possess existing full working rights - Permanent Resident or Citizen of Australia.
