Description

Our Federal Government client are hiring for a highly capable Business Analyst to join the organisation. This is an APS6 equivalent contract role for a focus on wider business processes understanding and determining requirements for IT systems.

Candidates must be based in Sydney and able to work a minimum of 2 days a week in office. This role requires candidates to possess a Negative Level One (NV1) Clearance in order to start.


Estimated Start Day: July 2026 - 12 Month Initial Contract, with a further 12 month extension option.

Role Title: Business Analyst

Daily Rate: $850 - $900 + Super per day.

Location: Sydney CBD (2000) - 2 days in office as minimum and the rest hybrid.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst ideally in a digital environment in government or complex organisations.
  • Subject matter expertise in business process management and Lean Process, with the ability to drive business change and take ownership of delivering key outcomes in projects.
  • The ability to manage end user workshops, elicit, document and analyse requirements, conduct user surveys, and analyse business process performance.
  • Experience in providing project lifecycle documentation such as business requirements document, requirements traceability, SWOT, work instructions, process flows, options papers, testing and acceptance criteria, service model documentation, and other design artefacts.
  • Experience working with various corporate business segments and cross functional teams, expertise in driving business transformation through change.
  • Experience in communicating, influencing, and engaging with stakeholders in business teams, and other areas of governance including security, legal, and service management.
  • Experience in managing projects using Waterfall and Agile/Iterative project methodologies.
  • Experience managing the review and analysis of complex IT business processes and services.
  • Ability to gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Experience working in large scale agile framework teams.
  • Experience with translating business problems into customer solutions.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to work under limited direction, including experience in planning, prioritising and organising work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A background in Service Management and frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel & Visio.

Candidates are required to be based in Sydney and additionally, must possess Australian Citizenship and be in possession of an NV1 Clearance or have the ability to obtain this clearance.
