An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing technology team embarking on a major enterprise data transformation initiative.

Following the successful completion of a Proof of Concept, significant funding has been secured to build a modern AWS-based data platform that will centralise multiple data silos across the business and enable near real-time access to critical information.

Working alongside a team of talented engineers, you will help design, build and scale a cloud-native data platform that will become a strategic capability for the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working autonomously, and contributing to a project that will have a genuine impact across the business.

  • Designing and building scalable data pipelines and ingestion frameworks
  • Developing and maintaining AWS-based data solutions
  • Integrating data from multiple source systems into a centralised data lake
  • Building robust ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL
  • Implementing data quality, monitoring and governance controls
  • Collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
  • Contributing to data platform architecture, modelling and engineering best practices
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the data ecosystem
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-based environments
  • Strong hands-on experience across the AWS data stack, including:
    • AWS Glue
    • Amazon Athena
    • Amazon Kinesis
    • S3
    • Lambda (desirable)
  • Strong Python and SQL development skills
  • Experience building scalable data pipelines and modern data platforms
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ingestion patterns and data architecture
  • Experience implementing data quality, governance and monitoring controls
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Experience within Healthcare, Financial Services or other highly regulated industries
  • Exposure to healthcare integrations including HL7, DICOM or integration engines
  • Experience working on enterprise cloud migration or data modernisation programs
  • $150,000 base salary + Super
  • 10% discretionary bonus
  • Hybrid working environment
  • Two-stage interview process
  • Opportunity to work on a strategic, enterprise-wide AWS data platform
  • Strong likelihood of extension or ongoing opportunities beyond the initial 12-month term
  • Collaborative and highly skilled engineering team

If you're passionate about cloud data engineering and want to play a key role in building a modern data platform from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
