About the Role

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Automation Test Analyst to join a high-performing Core Banking team based in Brisbane CBD. This role will see you working on a large-scale transformation project, helping migrate a bespoke core banking platform from a legacy environment into a modern Java-based application hosted on AWS.

Working closely with developers, you'll take ownership of automation testing across the platform, with the role being approximately 75% automation and 25% manual testing. As the sole Automation Tester within the team, you'll be responsible for building and enhancing automation frameworks, improving testing processes and driving automation best practice across the project. This is a hands-on senior position requiring someone who is self-sufficient, proactive and confident working independently while collaborating closely with developers and business stakeholders.

Key Skills

• 5+ years' experience in Automation Testing
• Strong experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Commercial experience with Selenium and Java
• Experience testing Java backend applications and APIs
• Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman or SOAPUI
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Git, Jira and test management tools such as Zephyr
• Understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
• Exposure to AWS or cloud-hosted environments is highly desirable
• Previous experience within banking or financial services is preferred
• Ability to work autonomously as the senior automation specialist within the team
