We are looking for an experienced Product Owner - Atlassian Suite Adoption to own and continually improve the way Jira and Confluence are used across the Technology Delivery function.
This role sits within the Technology Delivery team and is responsible for driving platform governance, standards, administration, adoption and continuous improvement across our Atlassian ecosystem. Supporting approximately 50 delivery-focused users, you will ensure Jira and Confluence remain simple, effective, well-governed and aligned to the delivery practices.
More than a traditional administrator, this role combines the responsibilities of a Platform Owner, Product Owner and Atlassian SME. You will own the roadmap and backlog for the platform, prioritise enhancements, oversee project onboarding and offboarding, and help teams realise value from consistent ways of working.
Success in this role will come from building credibility through delivery. We are looking for a hands-on practitioner who can balance governance with practicality, drive adoption of recently established standards, and deliver incremental improvements that make a tangible difference to delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the Jira and Confluence roadmap, backlog and prioritisation process.
- Define and champion the vision for effective Atlassian adoption across Technology Delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform capability, user experience and delivery outcomes.
- Partner with delivery leaders to align platform improvements with business needs.
- Administer Jira projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, custom fields and configurations.
- Govern project creation, onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Maintain platform standards, governance controls and naming conventions.
- Ensure alignment with organisational delivery frameworks and governance requirements.
- Manage access controls and role-based permissions.
- Drive adoption of Atlassian standards, templates and best practices.
- Support teams in improving their use of Jira and Confluence.
- Develop practical solutions that simplify ways of working and reduce complexity.
- Identify, prioritise and implement platform improvements.
- Build momentum through regular delivery of small, meaningful wins.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Jira and Confluence.
- Build trusted relationships across Technology Delivery and adjacent business teams.
- Influence stakeholders through expertise, collaboration and delivery outcomes.
- Support change adoption and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor platform health, usage and performance.
- Provide reporting and insights on adoption, platform utilisation and improvement opportunities.
- Track roadmap progress, risks and continuous improvement outcomes.
- Maintain platform documentation, standards and operating procedures.
- Strong hands-on Jira Administration experience.
- Experience managing Confluence within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience owning or managing a platform, product backlog or technology capability.
- Experience developing roadmaps and prioritising competing demands.
- Experience driving user adoption and change initiatives.
- Experience working with Agile delivery teams and practices.
- Deep understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, permissions and governance models.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to balance governance requirements with practical delivery outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Comfortable working independently as the primary Atlassian SME.
