Senior DevSecOps Engineer - Contract

3-5 month initial contract | CI/CD uplift | GitHub Actions

We're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support a key uplift across CI/CD, deployment security and engineering practices.

This is a hands-on role focused on modernising existing delivery pipelines and transitioning them to GitHub Actions. You'll also work closely with software developers to embed security throughout the deployment lifecycle, helping teams deliver applications more securely and reliably.

The Role

• Uplift and modernise existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, build and migrate pipelines to GitHub Actions.
• Embed security controls and automated checks into deployment workflows.
• Partner with developers to improve secure development and deployment practices.
• Identify vulnerabilities, configuration risks and gaps across the delivery lifecycle.
• Integrate security tooling such as SAST, DAST, dependency and container scanning.
• Improve secrets management, access controls and pipeline governance.
• Develop reusable workflows, templates and automation.
• Provide practical guidance to engineering teams without slowing down delivery.
• Document standards and support the ongoing adoption of DevSecOps practices.

About You

• Strong experience in DevSecOps, platform engineering or cloud security.
• Hands-on experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions.
• Experience embedding security controls into software delivery processes.
• Comfortable working directly with developers and influencing engineering practices.
• Good understanding of application, cloud, container and deployment security.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation.
• Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.

Experience migrating from another CI/CD platform into GitHub Actions would be highly regarded.
