Azure Engineer | Contract

East Melbourne / Hybrid
3month contract with potential extension

We're seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to support the delivery of a large-scale cloud, data and AI initiative within a Microsoft technology environment.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and operationalising Azure-based solutions, data pipelines, automation and AI-enabled workflows. You'll work closely with architecture and platform teams to implement an established solution and help transition it into ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy Azure-based solutions and services.
• Build and support data processing and automation pipelines.
• Implement AI-enabled workflows and integrations.
• Configure and manage cloud storage, metadata and governance controls.
• Develop supporting applications and automation components.
• Produce technical documentation and operational handover materials.

Required Skills

• Strong Microsoft Azure engineering experience.
• Experience with Azure AI services and/or Azure AI Foundry.
• Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Azure Storage and data platform experience.
• Python and/or PySpark development skills.
• Experience with automation, integrations and serverless technologies.
• Ability to work independently in a delivery-focused environment.

Desirable

• Power Platform experience (Power Apps).
• Microsoft Purview or information governance exposure.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
• Exposure to AI, document processing, or data classification solutions.
